This group is responsible for designing, editing and printing weekly church bulletins, assisting in maintaining the church Web site, providing support to the church administrative assistant, receiving new members, designing special programs and supporting the pastor with other administrative task as required.

AUDIO AND VIDEO MINISTRY (Bro. Alonzo Jarrett)
The purpose of the Audio and Video Ministry is to spread the message of Jesus Christ through audio and video means. This includes operating all A/V equipment, CD/DVD duplication, recording of worship services, and producing public service announcements for radio broadcasting. Through Audio and Video, we help cultivate “Developing Godly People…Dedicated to a Life of Service.”
Deacon Appointee This ministry is set apart to assist individuals through difficult times by providing financial, food, clothing, rent, and spiritual support.
BRIDGE-BUILDERS (Sis. Rae Lowery)
The function of Bridge Builders is to let new members know they are indeed welcome and are an
integral part of St. John Baptist Church. Bridge Builders will help new members with how to
assimilate and participate in church ministries and activities. Bridge Builders will also ensure new members that despite the perceived lack of openness, which accompanies new faces and places, there is indeed an abundance of brotherly love at St. John Baptist Church. Bridge Builders tracks and enlists new members into new members orientation classes.
CARD MINISTRY (Sis. Maggie Childress)
The Card Ministry brings well wishes, words of encouragement, and peace to individuals hospitalized, recovering at home, grieving, or celebrating the blessings and joys of life.
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION MINISTRY (Pastor Herman Price, Jr.)
This ministry oversees the Christian education material used in the church. The Christian Education Ministry will be responsible for equipping teachers, volunteers, leaders, and laypersons to serve.
CHILDREN’S SHELTER (Sis. Janice Randolph)
The Children’s Shelter Ministry reaches out to the many homeless children that are displaced from their familiar lifestyles and homes and are currently residing in unfamiliar surroundings. These ministry aids in making the children feel at ease and comfortable without a second thought. This ministry allows each and every child genuine nurturing through the feelings of need, warmth, care, concern,
inclusivity and most of all…LOVE!
COLLEGE STUDENT MINISTRY (Sis. Debbie Patton)
College students away from home for the first time can experience difficult moments associated with the college life. The College Ministry seeks to maintain contact with our college students at home and while away from home. The College Ministry supplies college students with special gift packages, calling cards, and offer words of encouragement and prayer.
COMMUNITY AFFAIRS MINISTRY (Rev. C.J. Littlefield)
The Community Affairs Ministry speaks truth to power and partners with other churches and institutions fighting for peace and justice. This ministry creates an environment that encourages
conversations regarding social issues.
CULINARY MINISTRY (Bro. Herman Rover)
The Culinary Ministry’s supports the pastor, auxiliary ministries, and other special activities by preparing food with Christian love. Through the Culinary Ministry we hope to touch the hearts of
bereaved families by providing consolation food for hurting spirits.
DEACONS MINISTRY (Deacon/s on Call)
While acting in conjunction with and under the pastor, Deacons are appointed to manage the spiritual and disciplinary affairs of the church. Deacons are to partner with the Pastor in Christian ministry to equip the membership for Christian service and a lifestyle of worship. This ministry is to assist individuals through difficult times and provide education to ensure a lifestyle of spiritual success in hopes of never being in the situation again.
DIVINE MEN OF VALOR (Bro. Leland Stewart, Deacon Anthony Childress)
The Men’s Ministry is to develop Christian men through God’s life-changing Word. This ministry increases men involvement and participation in church ministries, develops Christian men that can walk in a lifestyle of Christian discipleship, exposes men of the church to God’s unity and oneness through Christian brotherhood, teaches men the value of sharing, caring, worship, stewardship, and community service by participating in community and church activities.
EVANGELISM EXPLOSION (Rev. C.J. Littlefield)
The Evangelism Explosion equips St. John Baptist Church members with basic Biblical truth about God’s plan of salvation and teaches Christians to share their faith in Christ with others in the marketplace. The purpose of Evangelism Explosion is to train members to be involved in the church’s evangelism ministry.

The Greeter’s Ministry greets all who enters the church with a goal of making them feel welcome and at home. The Greeters encourages and invites our guest to return for worship and spiritual

HOSPITAL VISITATION MINISTRY (Rev. C.J. Littlefield)
The purpose of this ministry is to visit church members and their family members when hospitalized. The Visiting Team will read Bible passages and pray for patients and their families.

The Grounds Ministry ensures the outward body of Christ lends itself to the same inward spiritual functionality. This ministry allows the church to be conductive to the marketing and growing purposes of the church.
The Marketing-Media Ministry assists in the Pastor’s leadership with Growing the Body of Christ through…Evangelism via media distribution. Media engagements include: printed materials, electronic mail, banner/billboard displays, church website/Internet and media broadcasting to ensure the masses are reached and given the opportunity to hear the Gospel at all levels.

The purpose of the Minster and Deacon Wives’ Ministry is to strengthen the relationships between the ministers and deacons’ wives. The wives will meet once a quarter to fellowship and minister to each other’s spiritual needs.

The purpose of our Music Ministry is to lift up the name of God through spiritual songs. To edify God and lead the congregation in it’s spiritual act of worship expression.

St. John’s Nurses Ministry provides limited medical treatment and support to individuals and families as needed. The Nurses participate with ushers to ensure the safety of
worshipers moved by the Holy Spirit. This ministry also teaches, trains, and encourages people to practice living healthier lifestyles.

THE FOOD PANTRY MINISTRY (Sis. Sandra Stroud)
We envision a community in which everyone has access to sufficient nutritious food. We are committed to responding to the needs of The Leon Valley community to be servants of Christ through food distribution. Those we serve Christ serves when we extend mercy to the broken. We reach out with the hands of Christ himself. We plan to serve with diligence above and beyond the call of duty to the community.

This ministry affords young adult Christians to nurture their spiritual growth through Biblical studies and serving others. The Mix has the primary responsibility of reaching other young adults for Christ.
USHER’S MINISTRY (Sis. Ida Terrell)
In addition to enlightening and informing members and guests of Christian decorum in the church, ushers are also responsible for welcoming and directing everyone to a comfortable seat. Ushers ensure order is kept in the church during worship.
VISITOR’S MINISTRY (Pastor Herman Price, Jr.)
The ministers, deacons, or laypersons from St John Baptist will visit the home of guests that request a visit from the church. The Team answers questions from guests concerning the church and offer prayer for the families.
YOUTH MINISTRY (Bro. Percy Edwards)
The youth ministry is an exciting and vital ministry in the church. It’s a launching pad for nurturing the faith of the next generation, serving as a place of prayer for our children, a place where they hear foundational Bible stories, and a place where they learn simple Biblical truth statements. We desire to partner with and equip parents to raise a generation of children who: grow in Christ and spiritual maturity; discover, develop, and use their gifts for the glory of God; pursue a God-centered vision of life; engage in worship, stewardship, study, prayer, and ministry; and have a clear vision for godly manhood and womanhood.

Throughout the year special events for families are offered, creating opportunities to celebrate life together. b. INFANT & TODDLER MINISTRY
Babies can learn too! Tap into the early development skills of babies and toddlers by communicating basic Bible truths through stories, pictures and songs. The ministry provides all the resources you need to create a faith-filled nursery and toddler room that ministers to all the needs of babies and toddlers. Staffed by excellent volunteers, a warm, caring, and loving atmosphere is created for the ministry. It’s never too early to introduce children to Jesus!
c. YOUTH CHOIR MINISTRY
Ministry offers opportunities for young people to enrich their musical, social, and emotional skills by associating them with dedicated adults who not only foster the development of music ministerial skills but also serve as role models of Christian living. Parents are encouraged to be involved with and occasionally sit in on rehearsals to observe, support and encouragement.

e. GOD’S LOVE OVERCOMING THE WORLD (G.L.O.W.)
Our youth Bible Study is a place where our students and families are loved, encouraged, challenged, and strengthened as they grow in their faith. G.L.O.W. is aimed at helping youth develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by providing them the resources to grow in worship, ground them in God’s Word and give them opportunities to witness and serve others; assists youth in learning how to keep God first in their lives, and how to seek God’s word in their everyday lives.

The ministry uplifts hearts and spirits through praise and worship in dance. In this ministry you do not need any experience in dance, just a love for God and wanting to express it through movement of dance.

h. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS)
VBS is an important time for our children for several reasons. Children are encouraged to attend and have fun as they learned more about God and the Bible. They learned great stories from the Bible that teaches love and respect for others and especially God’s love for children. It also incorporates themed activities that entertain kids with the chance to learn about God; provide teachings for all ages in an effort to promote Christianity, love and fellowship.
